My apologies, but context matters when engaging in conversation with others. Offense is taken and not given. I am not a fan for compelled language, gestures, or speech. My statement was a simple figure of speech with a strong concern and emphasis on the state of GlusterFS and its future. |

Marvelous, I am sorry but I am going to have to report this post. Implied threats of bans or reports is in and of itself a form of intimidation. The irony of an open platform peddling censorship and controlled speech. Nope, the TOS says nothing about my language as I didn't direct threats or violence towards anyone. |

@mykaul I believe he was referencing ancient times with the wording "raped and pillaged" which, while not pretty nor politically correct, does portray a somewhat accurate description of what tends to happen to open source in the business world. Regardless of the wording his original question is an excellent one that I and many others are also concerned about. Allow me to restate the question... From my understanding Red Hat will no longer support the Gluster project sometime late 2024 in favor of Ceph or at the behest of IBM pushing GPFS. Assuming this is the case where do we go from here? Thanks! |

Hello,
From my understanding Red Hat will no longer support the Gluster project sometime late 2024 in favor of Ceph or at the behest of IBM pushing GPFS. Assuming this is the case where do we go from here? I suspect GlusterFS will simply fade into obscurity or get raped and pillaged and then turned it a pseudo-proprietary software stack with all of its core components monetized under the guise of "innovation".
