You can check out the GitHub repository for any wiki, useful to add images and edit in bulk:

https://github.com/geonetwork/core-geonetwork.wiki.git

If you look on each wiki page they have the clone URL.

The advantage is the ability to preview pages locally.

Right now I see wiki pages using content like:

These links will break over time and are essentially unversioned.
