In the example 2018/screen-size you need change enum code to:

enum DIRECTIONS { TOP_BOTTOM, BOTTOM_TOP, LEFT_RIGHT, RIGHT_LEFT } 
export(DIRECTIONS) var direction

You left put DIRECTIONS before the values.
