A bash script can be written to delete the SEL log automatically by the host:
The primary command to clear the SEL log on the server is:

ipmiutil sel -d -V 4 -N ip-address_of_the_server -U username -P password

ipmiutil must be installed on the host
To install ipmiutil:
apt-get install ipmiutil
