2000-05-03 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* time/tz.c: Fixed compiler warning.
* mintlib/alloca.S: Moved to ...
* stdlib/alloca.S: ... here. Also renamed alloca() to __alloca()
with weak alias.
* include/alloca.h: Added internal prototypes.
* include/stdlib.h: Include <alloca.h>.
* posix/wordexp.c: Removed __alloca macro.
* mintlib/memcopy.h: New file, needed by msort.
2000-05-02 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* include/sys/stat.h: New macros S_IFSOCK and S_ISSOCK
(proposed by Frank Naumann <[email protected]>).
* mintlib/main.c: Abort when compiled for m68020 or fpu support
and the required hardware is not available.
* mintlib/libc_fatal.c: Include program name in error message.
* stdlib/msort.c: New.
* stdlib/qsort.c: Replaced with version from GNU libc 2.1.3
(proposed by Frank Naumann <[email protected]>). This
version tries to use the faster msort algorithm first if
the necessary memory is available.
2000-04-28 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* mintlib/do_stat.c, mintlib/quickstat.c, unix/fstat.c: Always
count in 512 bytes blocks.
2000-04-16 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* include/bits/types.h: typedef __time_t to long int and not to
__int32_t since that provokes conflicts with existing sources
(reported by Marc-Anton Kehr <[email protected]>).
2000-04-10 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* include/compiler.h: Define "unix" (and similar macros) to 1 and
not to empty.
2000-04-09 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* string/argz-replace.c, time/tz.c: Fixed compiler warnings.
* stdio/getw.c, stdio/putw.c: Added (were forgotten).
2000-04-08 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* stdio/vsprintf.c: Removed linker warning (otherwise gcc
won't build).
* include/signal.h: Take __PMT instead of __P for typedef
(reported by Frank Naumann <[email protected]>).
* include/sys/socket.h: Added __BEGIN_DECLS and __END_DECLS
(reported by Frank Naumann <[email protected]>).
* mintlib/main.c: Don't rely on __mode.__device member in FILE.
* include/features.h.in: Always include <sys/cdefs.h>. Lie
and fake being the GNU library 2.1.x.
* include/libc-symbols.h: Moved to ...
* mintlib/libc-symbols.h: ... here. Thus, the file doesn't get
installed and the macros are not accessible any more.
* include/stab.h, include/stab.def: Removed (already in mintbin).
2000-04-04 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* include/values.h: New.
* include/inttypes.h: Added missing declarations/definitions for
imaxdiv_t, imaxabs, imaxdiv, strtoimax, strtoumax.
* mintlib/llabs.c: New.
* mintlib/lldiv.c: Added weak_alias imaxdiv for lldiv.
* string/strtoimax.c, string/strtoumax.c: New.
* include/argz.h, string/argz-addsep.c, string/arz-append.c,
string/argz-count.c, string/argz-create.c, string/argz-ctsep.c,
string/argz-delete.c, string/argz-extract.c, string/argz-insert.c,
string/argz-next.c, string/argz-replace.c, string/argz-stringify:
New.
* mintlib/test-ctype1.c: Removed check for EOF == -1 because
buggy preprocessors barf out on this.
* mintlib/ctype.c, include/ctype.h: iscntrl(255) is now 1 as
it should be.
* include/errno.h: Allow to get only error_t.
* include/compiler.h, include/stdio.h: Always define __THROW.
2000-04-01 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* configvars: Bumped version number to 0.55.
* mintlib/do_stat.c, mintlib/quickstat.c, unix/fstat.c:
Don't change st_blocks.
2000-03-31 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* include/bits/select.h: Replaced by GNU libc version.
* unix/test-fdset.c: New test for fd_set macros.
* unix/test-select.c: Include <test-skeleton.c> to avoid hanging
on errors.
* stdio/vsprintf: Added linker warning.
2000-03-30 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* stdio/stdio_init.c: Use __do_fstat instead of __fstat because
that was why __do_fstat was written for ...
* mintlib/do_stat.c, mintlib/quickstat.c: Really fix the
kernel bugs in st_blocks.
* include/poll.h, include/sys/poll.h, include/bits/poll.h,
unix/poll.c: New files.
* include/bits/types.h: Change with fdset_t. It is no longer
an unsigned long int. Only use the macros from <sys/select.h>
to evaluate or manipulate the fdset_t data type. You have been
warned!
* unix/select.c: Rewritten. Now calls poll() to give the caller
the theoratical chance to poll more than 32 file descriptors.
2000-03-29 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* crypt/test-md5_2.c: Updated from GNU libc 2.1.3.
* buildrules, stdio/stdio_init.c: Don't get the optimal bufsize
by means of fstat(). It works too unreliable.
* signal/sigemptyset.c, signal/sigfillset.c: Typo fix and
minor optimization.
* signal/test-sigset.c: New.
* include/netdb.h: Removed superfluous __BEGIN_DECLS (reported
by Frank Naumann <[email protected]>.
* unix/fstat.c: Rewritten and eliminated bugs.
* mintlib/do_stat.c, mintlib/quickstat.c: Fix kernel bugs in st_blocks.
2000-03-28 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* time/tz.c: Convert unix-style filenames to GEMDOS-style
if necessary.
* include/mint/errno.h: Fixed typo with EACCES (reported
by Frank Naumann <[email protected]>).
* unix/vfork.S: Still unsure, but have re-included Joerg's
patch. See BUGS.
2000-03-25 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* include/bits/local_lim.h: Removed __LONG_MAX__ definition for
mshort.
* crypt/md5.c, crypt/md5.h, crypt/md5-crypt.c: Updated from GNU
libc 2.1.3.
* mintlib/ident.c: Also include information about compiler flags.
* include/bits/types.h: Changed __pid_t from __int16_t to
int.
2000-03-25 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* stdio/lockfile.c: Include a header so that weak_alias is
defined.
* stdio/stdio_init.c: Added protos for __isatty and __fstat.
* gmp/mpn2dbl.c, gmp/mpn2flt.c, stdlib/strtod.c: Fixed for mshort.
* signal/sigemptyset.c, signal/sigfillset.c: Include <string.h>.
* login/utmpname.c: Include <bits/libc-lock.h>.
* mintlib/do_stat.c, mintlib/quickstat.c: Also copy st_blksize
in Fxattr emulation for stat().
* buildrules: Compile stdio/stdio_init.c with -D_STATBUF_ST_BLKSIZE.
* mintlib/isatty.c: Weak alias.
2000-03-23 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* unix/siggetmask.c: Removed (already in signal).
* mintlib/_normdf.S, mintlib/frexp.S, mintlib/ldexp.S,
mintlib/modf.S: Renamed internal assembler routine norm_df
to ___norm_df.
* mintlib/signal.c: Added weak alias __signal needed by
syscall().
* unix/sigprocmask: Renamed function to __sigprocmask and
made sigprocmask a weak alias instead.
* include/features.h.in: Define macro __USE_EXTERN_INLNES.
ATTENTION: This means that you have to compile the MiNTLib
at least with optimization level -O and that you need
at least gcc 2.7.2!
* stdio/vsnprintf.c: Fixed bug inherited from GNU libc. The
function never returned -1 even if the provided buffer wasn't
big enough.
* stdio/test-printf.expect: Don't expect the snprintf bug
and expect the correct floating point constants.
* posix/TESTS, posix/test-run.c: Updated from GNU libc 2.1.3.
* posix/testcases.h: Regenerated.
* include/libc-lock.h: Moved to ...

* stdio/fputc.c, stdio/printf_fp.c, stdio/printf_fphex.c,
stdlib/strtod.c, stdlib/fpioconst.c, stdlib/fpioconst.h,
stdlib/strtol.c, stdio/vfprintf.c, stdio/vfscanf.c:
Updated from GNU libc 2.1.3.
* stdio/gmp-mparam.h: Removed (duplicate, already in stdlib).
* stdio/psignal.c: Use _sys_siglist instead of sys_siglist.
* stdio/stdio_init.c: Use Posix version instead of generic
version from GNU libc.
2000-03-22 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>:
* configvars: Bumped version number to 0.54.99e.
* include/stdlib.h: Added prototype for lldiv() and typedef
for lldiv_t.
* mintlib/lldiv.c: New.
* include/bits/types.h, include/sys/types.h: Various modifications,
mainly cleaned up.
* include/sys/select.h: New.
* include/bits/sigset.h, include/bits/select.h: New.
* include/signal.h: Made closer to GNU libc.
* include/sys/time.h: #include <sys/select.h>.
* include/termios.h: Added prototype for cfsetspeed.

* include/memory.h: Only #include <malloc.h>.
* include/bits/posix_opt.h, include/sys/sysmacros.h: New.
* include/ctype.h, mintlib/ctype.c, mintlib/test-ctype.c,
mintlib/test-ctype1.expect: iscntrl(EOF) now returns
false (I still think this is wrong).
* mintlib/ctype.c: Make isblank a weak alias to keep namespace
clean.

* common/chroot.c: Use __set_errno.
2000-03-08 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>
* stdio/doprnt.c, include/stdio.h: New (old) function _doprnt
provided for compatibility.
* common/tz.c: Use Fopen instead of open to avoid circular
calling.
* common/quickstat.c: New file. Contains internal function
__quickstat that does a stat without time checking.
* common/access.c, common/buffindf.c, common/mkdir.c, common/open.c,
common/rmdir.c, common/unlink.c, common/glob.c: Use __quickstat()
instead of stat ().
* tests/opendir.args: Subdirectory "src" is now "common".
* stdlib/exit.c: Oops, ___fclose_all_files finished too early
and eventually missed a open streams.
2000-03-08 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>
* include/string.h: Disable all inline stuff. No effect.
* common/open.c, common/enoent.c: Use stat() instead of Fxattr.
* common/rmdir.c: Check first if argument is really a directory.
* buildrules: Compile crypt stuff with -O3 -fexpensive-optimizations.
Expected effect was 250 %. The real effect is zero. :-(
* stdio/vfprintf.c: Handle %C as a bad format conversion string
instead of crashing.
* stdio/vfscanf.c: Fix a bug inherited from the GNU libc. If we
expect to read a hex char and see only "0x" either read only
the 0 (in case of %i) or return with a conversion error
(in case of %x).
* stdio/test-scanf6.c: Added a few tests that reveal the above
mentioned bug.
2000-03-07 Guido Flohr <[email protected]>
* README.crypt, README.tests: New.
* do_test: Also echo the "cmp" command if TEST_VERBOSE.
* stdio/test-popen.c: Look for "cat" in $PATH and not only
as "/bin/cat".
* stdio/test-tmpfile.c: Write 100 temporary files instead of one.
* stdio/test-tmpfile.sh: New. Search through temporary directories
for orphaned temporary files.
* stdio/tmpnam.c: Ooops, don't return buffer from stack.
* stdio/test-scanf11.c: Make the test result depend on the define
NO_BUG_IN_ISO_C_CORRIGENDUM_1.
* stdio/test-scanf6.c: Exit with 1 and don't abort for that
little error.
2000-03-07 Mandin Patrice <[email protected]>
* include/falcon.h: Fixed problems with Vsetscreen.

A new ChangeLog starts here with 0.54.99 pumped out a minute
ago. Between today and the last ChangeLog entry there have
been so many changes that I lost all my spirit to update
this file. If you try to make a patch from 0.54.1b to
0.54.99 you will see that the patch gets bigger than the new
archive and you probably understand.
Older ChangeLog entries can be found in ChangeLog.0
