TLS verification for websites fails, if SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 proxy is configured using FoxyProxy.

No problem on same site and proxy with curl.
Disabled proxy in FoxyProxy and configured proxy in Firefox directly works with no problem.

Firefox is version 125.0 on Ubuntu 24.10.

The API used in FoxyProxy should not make any difference with regards to the TLS as it is passed to Firefox for handling. I have just verified it from the Mozilla engineers.

How have you set it in FoxyProxy?
