Isn't it area-damage in the check too?

Isn't it area-damage in the check too?

My understanding was that it's area-damage for IWR, and area-effect is the roll option that area spells use, and what some things in the system predicate their bonuses on, like the Cover effect, for instance.

Could add area-damage to the checks too, but it being a basic save and an area effect already implies it's a save against area damage. Happy to go either way.
