Functional stories that use Fusion are being required twice

Describe the bug

There looks to be a bug with Fusion support where functional components are rendering twice, leading to unexpected results in stories. It's hard to tell if this is an issue in the Fusion branch #197 or if there's a bug in the main branch we need to work out

Expected behavior

The story should be required once

Steps to reproduce

Unsure or repro steps. Probably something like:

1. Open a functional story
2. Observe that the story is required twice

This should be fixed by #267 from adding first-class Fusion support. Functional stories will continue to have this behavior
