Note: I am not familiar with the issue from a technical side
A lot of linux clients like dropbox, nextcloud-client, synology drive client seem to have per file manager integration.
Indeed by simply searching on the AUR one can find multiple, sometimes unofficial, sometimes official integrations with various file managers.
Typically named something like nautilus-dropbox-git as an example or dolphin-dropbox-git.
Same also seems to be true of nextcloud client as under fedora integrations with file managers are packaged separately.
And in my case I am currently using synology at work. Which only works with nautilus for some reason which is kind of a usability issue for me since i happen to use dolphin.
Obviously those extensions do various things anything from extra options from the right click menu like quick sharing to automatic badges showing if a file is being synced.
I was wondering if a file sync format would be appropriate for such a goal instead. Though again I must stress I don't know the technical specifics of this.
