Request to Add Dark Mode for Better User Experience #1418

Motivation:
The Falco website currently lacks a dark mode option, which can cause eye strain for users, especially when browsing in low-light environments. A dark mode would improve user comfort and accessibility, catering to those who prefer it.

Feature:
Introduce a dark mode toggle for users to switch between light and dark themes. This would improve the overall browsing experience, reducing eye strain and providing a more modern, customizable interface.

Alternatives:
An alternative could be integrating an automatic dark mode that activates based on the user’s system settings.

Additional context:
Adding dark mode would align with current design trends and meet the needs of users who prefer this feature for better comfort and usability.

Hi,

I understand the reasons behind your requests, but it's not in our todo, sorry.

The website is composed of 3 parts, the main section, the blog section and the docs, all are based on docsy for the theme, with a lot of overriding of the layouts for the main and blog. The version we used of docsy is quite old (2y) and doesn't have a dark mode, it's only available since the version 0.10.0 (May 2024). It would require a lot of time and effort to update the version of docsy and adapt our custom layouts (they have a mix of markdown, html and css).
