Usage
See the subsections for detailed information on how to use Fairy-Stockfish. Most likely you want to use Fairy-Stockfish in a graphical user interface, in that case see https://github.com/ianfab/Fairy-Stockfish/wiki/Graphical-user-interfaces. If you want to share information with other users or have questions regarding Fairy-Stockfish, you are welcome to join our discord server.
If you want to quickly try out playing against Fairy-Stockfish online, you can do so on multiple websites, depending on which variant you want to play, see below. However, to play less common or custom variants not supported by the below mentioned websites, or for more serious analysis and matches, it is recommended to download Fairy-Stockfish to run it offline.
On Pychess you can play various chess variants against Fairy-Stockfish, e.g., Xiangqi, Shogi, Makruk, Janggi, and more.
Lishogi uses Fairy-Stockfish when playing against the computer from custom positions. Besides that, there is also an official lishogi bot with Fairy-Stockfish https://lishogi.org/@/Fairy-Stockfish on lishogi.
Xichess is a Xiangqi website using Fairy-Stockfish for game play and analysis.
When it is online, you can play against the official Fairy-Stockfish bot https://lichess.org/@/Fairy-Stockfish on lichess. You can also set up your own lichess bot with Fairy-Stockfish if you like.
To play bughouse against Fairy-Stockfish on FICS, you need to set up Fairy-Stockfish with XBoard/Winboard zippy mode.
