Would it be possible to add support for the Ubiquiti Next-Gen Gateway Lite (UXG-Lite)?

I tried to use it on an UGX Lite, getting internet to work with KPN FTTH just works fine.

However, IPTV doesn't work. The KPN TV is working for 2 seconds, and then stops...

I changed the WAN interface to eth1, and the LAN interfaces to eth0.661 (since VLAN 661 is where my IPTV VLAN runs on).

Any ideas what I should do? I had to install the igmpporxy manually (apt update, apt install igmpproxy)

I presumed that igmpproxy has been replaced with improxy

Both didn't get installed by the script, I had to install it manually or I got an error that igmpproxy isn't there.

I think there's an issue with the igmpproxy and some routing

Looks like there are known issues with the advertised IGMP proxy. The product page used to state it was supported but that looks removed (I think). I bought it because it would support this.

Allright, running into all the same issues mentioned here. Had to manually install igmpproxy, otherwise it wouldn't work at all.

Regarding the actual issue here - I think it's a downstream issue. If I run tcpdump -i iptv, I see incoming TV traffic even after the STB reaches the error screen. This traffic stops after the timeout of IGMP or if I turn off the STB. However, I don't see any multicast traffic on the TV LAN interface...

One small addition: I still had to manually install igmpproxy (as on 3.1.15). Something is off in the install script...

@marcelvanveen It looks like your patch "Add support for UXG Lite LAN interfaces" has been commited. However, I'm not sure the issue with VLANs haven been fixed on the UXG-Lite.

It's committed - but no new version is released just yet. Did you test with the latest main branch or the release 3.0.4 version?

I tested it on my UXG_lite with new script from fabian seems to work. Multicast streams working now

Step by step on how I got it to work in UXG Lite with KPN (4k Arris TV 5502) 17 december 20023

ssh to device (Network, Settings, System, Advanced, Device authentication: to find the ssh user and password)

ssh username@ip-address of the UXG Lite. Paste the password.

You need (early access) firmware 3.1.16. The current 3.1.15 is not working (this may change in the future as newer version may come out). This installs 3.1.16:

ubnt-systool fwupdate
https://fw-download.ubnt.com/data/unifi-firmware/198c-UXG-3.1.16-168a7858-825a-4a20-b88e-dce8559deae2.bin

See at the bottom an error that I go that didn't seem to matter (1)

switch off "auto update" in the UI otherwise next night 3.1.15 is back on the UXG Lite, and you have to do this all again.

Install the magic bits

KPN (NL)

I used vi to edit the /etc/udm-iptv.conf. The line I had to change is:

IPTV_LAN_INTERFACES="eth0.20"
as I have my IPTV on VLAN 20.

I think this line said <br0> is the default file.

Incase you need to redo the config of udm-iptv use this:

udm-iptv reconfigure
Please mind you also may need to re-edit the /etc/udm-iptv.conf

This will show you all the network interfaces.

ifconfig
As the last step I disabled all VLAN except VLAN 20 on the switch ports that have an 4k IPTV Arris VIP5502 from KPN.
And for this VLAN IGMP snooping is enabled. May be this is not needed.

Errors that I got that can be ignored (it seems):

During Firmware install

Hi,

I get the following error (iptv on internal vlan 2). However, everything seems to be working fine:

I receive the same error message, but everything seems to work without problems. However, it would be nice to get rid of the error message.

I noticed a new setting, "IGMP Proxy" in my networksettings (see image), once I activate this option the freezes are gone and the error messages in the log are also gone. I use a UXG Lite with software version 3.1.16.
