However, I get "Make sure 'citar-notes-paths' and 'citar-file-note-extensions' are non-nil" when I try to use citar-open-notes. If I set the 'citar-notes-paths' variable, then citar creates normal notes without using the template defined above.
Just wanted to ask here what might be wrong with my configuration. Thanks!

I am relatively new to Emacs, and so I am trying to configure Citar and Org-roam using citar-org-roam to take notes on scientific articles.
Here is what is in my init.el:
