just dropping by to give some feedback on north-app and mostly on the carbon calculation aspect (not on the user experience or anything).
Given that you guys are using EXIOBASE (from what I've seen) you have access to public consumption in most countries. I would suggest to include this footprint immediately when registering on the app. Just ask the users their country and distribute them per capita GWP of public consumption in their country.
I think this is even more important since the message I got for your app is that you want to help people stick into the 2 degree target fixed in the Paris accord. Well in reality, this is even harder to realize since everyone already has a lot of emissions from just paying their taxes and it can't be dismissed and allocated to "the government". Everyone is responsible for the impacts of public hospitals and public schools (in France for example).
Really appreciate the initiative. Hope you the best.
