I used the electric starter to start building a new app. One thing I am dearly missing is hmr (hot module reload). This is greatly slowing dev speed as child routes need to be reopened from the root after reload. That is PAINFULL. My last few projects I have developed using vite.js. Which was a great experience. Why? Because I am no tooling expert and vite seemed to be very easy to tweak - which wasn't often needed to begin with. Does anyone know how to plug vite on top of the pre-installed esbuild after starting a project with the electric starter? I suppose installing electric after using the vite react starter would be the way to go. Will try that myself. But am happy for any good ideas. |

👋 we've been working the last month on a rebuild of the Electric server over at a temporary repo https://github.com/electric-sql/electric-next/ You can read more about why we made the decision at https://next.electric-sql.com/about We're really excited about all the new possibilities the new server brings and we hope you'll check it out soon and give us your feedback. We're now moving the temporary repo back here. As part of that migration we're closing all the old issues, PRs, and discussions. We really appreciate you taking the time to start this discussion! If it's still relevant in the new system, please reopen. |
