Nix or Python installation #118

If all required tools are already custom-installed, is it advisable to use the Python-based installation method for CACE? https://cace.readthedocs.io/en/latest/getting_started/installation_overview.html |

Hi @engrvip123! You are correct in that the tools will be duplicated, requiring extra storage. So if you use the Python-based installation method and manage all the tools yourself, then there is no reason to also use the Nix-based installation method. |

The advantage of the Nix-based installation method is that we can guarantee that you are running the correct versions of the tools that work well with CACE. We will make sure to update them regularly. If you have an issue with CACE, the first thing we would like to know is whether you are using the same version of the tools as in the Nix-based installation :)
