It would be great if you had a video on YouTube showing this in action.

was wondering what pin to get the audio out of, in the example was not sure.

Please see the https://github.com/earlephilhower/ESP8266Audio/ repo for more information. On the ESP8266 it's the RX pin but you need the appropriate circuit to drive the speaker.
