Would be good to have an AT command (or better still a downlink option) to always power the GPS thus reducing fix time and increasing accuracy. This is useful for high accuracy tracking at the expense of battery life. Perhaps a high accuracy mode with high update rate, eg 10s, fixed SF7 and always on GPS

In changelog for firmware version 1.5.3 which was released in January I see:
Modify AT+FTIME to support continuously tracking. If AT+FTIME=0, the GPS module will be always powered. Device in this mode will be of higher power consumption.
If you try this mode it would be great if you could share how big is the impact on the battery time in your case..
