For example, the hostname or address, port, etc. of the Rserve server needs to be specified and is currently hardcoded.

To clarify, I've hardcoded 'localhost' in Rshell, test.pl, and various tests under t/Rserve/. There's an initial stab at a perl style config.pl file in tests, which is used in tests/test_binary.pl.
