Great write up! Just wanted to say you saved me some grief in trying to figure out why my novnc was failing via HAProxy to my ProxMox cluster. At first I thought it was authentication issue as it "hops" between PVE servers based on round robin but it makes perfect sense to use sticky based on IP and cookie persistence to carry the authentication between servers. Rest of the settings are pretty much standard.

Since I use HAProxy in pfsense I've defaulted the frontend to use port 443 so wouldn't have to remember to add port 8006 at the end of the URL. I have several backend servers all listening to the port 433 frontend using my wildcard ssl cert. ACLs on the backend makes this real easy.
