[Feature Request] Options/Mappings

Is it possible to integrate a toogle function for the Side-Search window? Also it would perfect to have a mapping to open a file and close Side-Search window.

Two feature requests in one :). I'll see what I can do. Both sound useful and both have the same challenge. When I create the side buffer i create it as a scratch buffer. Than means when it's not visible perform a bwipe (https://github.com/ddrscott/vim-side-search/blob/master/plugin/side-search.vim#L78). This made it convenient to know wether or not to reuse the window or create a new one by not forcing me to decide which buffer to reuse if there was more than one.

Anyway, I'll see what I can do. I've found myself wanting the same behavior on several occasions.
