Recommend using a Bitcoin notary for recording chain of custody #2

I would recommend having that "manifest of technical checksums" be recorded in the Bitcoin Blockchain. There are several blockchain notary services, such as (https://proofofexistence.com/about). The concern is that the future might be flooded with "fake data" or "alternative data" like has happened to news and facts the past few months. By recording the hashes in a permanent timestamped public record (like the blockchain) you'd be able to prove you had custody of that exact dataset on that date, whereas the "alternative data" would be unable to demonstrate it predates the notarized copy.
