Many thanks for this useful code, which I'm using in a new project.
I've had to make some edits to make it compatible with eager execution in TensorFlow v2, although I am still using the v1 compatibility interface for convenience.
In the process I've also switched from the deprecated scipy image functions to imageio.
Just letting you know, in case it's useful for you.
