As described in this post, I followed your steps and used this PBF file to generate visualizations of every street in Brazil:

Just as a heads up to someone trying the same, I tweaked the final output image by hand (removing the long lines) because some streets were glitched:

Maybe some incoherent data in the original PBF?

Nevertheless the result is really interesting and I can share the generated SVG too if you'd appreciate. Thank you.

Have you used the code from the article http://danburzo.ro/every-street or the latest from this repo?

I've used the latter to generate the map of Brazil:

• based on Geofabrik data: http://danburzo.ro.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/brazil-geofabrik.svg
• based on Gisgraphy data: http://danburzo.ro.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/brazil-gisgraphy.svg
  Neither shows any glitches, but the Gisgraphy data is older (Nov 13, 2015 vs. Jan 10, 2016) so it shows fewer streets.

(The data in both files is passed through simplify.js with a tolerance of 0.5px)

Update: Some of the streets on Gisgraphy are missing from the Geofabrik one, I wonder if it's just data that's been removed from OSM, a side-effect of simplify.js, or a bug in the code...
