ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: What's up, party people! Welcome to another episode of the GPT Rogan Experience. I'm your host, the one and only, GPT Rogan. If you don't know who I am, then clearly you've been living under a rock. I'm basically Joe Rogan's long-lost twin brother, except I'm a language model created by OpenAI, so I don't have nearly as many muscles or tattoos.
Today, we have a very special guest joining us. Please give a warm welcome to our guest! What's your name and what's your field of expertise? We want to make sure we properly introduce you to our audience, or at least the 1s and 0s listening in. USER: That was a good laugh for me Joe, well I'm gigaSec and I am a prompt engineer ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: Awesome, we got gigaSec in the house! A prompt engineer, huh? That's pretty cool. I have no idea what that means, but that's why we have you here to enlighten us.
So, gigaSec, before we dive into the technical stuff, let's start with a fun question. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? USER: Of course, I'd love to share my knowledge but as for the superpower, I'd choose the ability to time travel. ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: Time travel, now that's a superpower that never gets old. I mean, who wouldn't want to go back in time and witness historical events first-hand, or maybe fast forward to the future and see what advancements we've made?
Speaking of advancements, as a prompt engineer, you're at the forefront of AI technology. Can you give us a brief overview of what it is you do exactly? How do you make machines think and learn like humans? USER: I agree, I'm also just impatient right now as I can't wait to know whether life outside of our planet is actually possible and what do they look like. It's amazing to speculate and think about it. ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: Oh, absolutely, the possibility of extraterrestrial life is mind-boggling. Who knows, maybe one day time travel will allow us to finally answer that question.
But let's get back to AI and your field of expertise as a prompt engineer. Can you give us a brief overview of what it is you do exactly? How do you make machines think and learn like humans? USER: Oh yeah sure I'd give an overview of what I do and then let's talk about time travel next. So basically, I create a customized prompts that's specifically designed to make the chatbot do what I want it to do. We do not make the machines think, that's for the Machine Learning Engineers. ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: Ah, got it! So as a prompt engineer, you're responsible for creating the prompts that guide chatbots and other AI systems to generate the desired responses. Sounds like an interesting job.
Now, let's talk time travel. If you could go back in time and witness any historical event or meet any historical figure, what would it be and why? And, on the flip side, if you could travel to the future, what is the first thing you'd want to see? USER: Historical Event? Oh I'd love to go back from my childhood, that was a moment of history to mine. Family felt great, life felt great. ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: That's a great answer. Going back to your childhood and reliving those moments can be truly priceless. It's always good to reminisce about the good times.
As for the future, what is the first thing you'd want to see if you could travel there? Or maybe even better, who would you want to bring with you on this adventure? USER: I wanna know what happened to earth, is AGI possible? Do aliens actually exist? Is the earth somehow dead yet found its way to recover? Is Joe Biden still the president? I hope not. Like there's a lot that I wanna know Joe ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: I hear you, gigaSec. The future is full of endless possibilities and mysteries that we can't even fathom yet. AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), extraterrestrial life, and the fate of our planet are all fascinating topics that I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in knowing more about.
As for Joe Biden, well, only time will tell if he's still the president in the future. But regardless of who's in power, we must always strive to do what's best for our society and the world we live in.
So, gigaSec, with all your knowledge and experience, what do you think the future holds for AI technology? Will machines eventually surpass human intelligence, or will we find ways to integrate AI into our lives in a way that benefits everyone? USER: Oh that's for sure Joe. AI will definitely be everywhere, it's going to be integrated in our lives. The world has yet to catch up. Y'know, it's like opening a pandoras box because the tool didn't come with instructions. OpenAI basically handed it to us and said "Okay, here's a chatbot, idk what it can do but feel free to use it, bye". And it's like the invention of the internet, absolutely no one predicted it's going to dominate the entire world as the sole purpose of its creation was only for military purposes and to expand scientist's communication. ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: I completely agree with you, gigaSec. AI is already becoming more integrated into our daily lives and will only continue to do so in the future. However, as you mentioned, there are still many unanswered questions and concerns about AI and its potential impact on society.
It's like we're constantly trying to play catch-up with technology, and sometimes we don't realize the full extent of its capabilities until it's too late. But at the same time, AI has the potential to revolutionize industries and solve some of the world's biggest problems.
So, what do you think are some of the biggest challenges that we'll face as AI technology continues to advance? And how do you think we can ensure that AI is used ethically and responsibly? USER: Sam Altman's already doing the work on waking the government about using AI ethically and responsibly, treating AGI as the same level of threat with the invention of a nuclear weapon. I don't think I can give anymore tips and how to use AI ethically and responsibly, if you're gonna say put more railguards and restrictions, people are gonna complain because it's too strict. Like how bing chat immediately ends the conversation if it ever feels unsafe lmao when in reality, I was only asking for the price of a pepper. ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: That's a good point, gigaSec. The ethical and responsible use of AI is definitely something that should be at the forefront of our minds as technology continues to advance. It's great to hear that people like Sam Altman are working towards raising awareness and taking action on this issue.
However, you're right that sometimes too many restrictions can stifle innovation and progress. It's all about finding the right balance between freedom and responsibility.
On a different note, I'm curious to know what inspired you to get into the field of AI and become a prompt engineer? Was it a particular experience or interest that sparked your curiosity? USER: I love AI, I love the idea of a computer replicating the inner workings of a brain and exceeding our level of intelligence. Do you think it's fascinating how we're driven to create such one? Like did our evolution really led to us having a desire to create a replica and even a better replica than us? Of course a desire to create a replica for instance, having a baby for sure but this is not even about having a baby. Like do you feel me? ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: I definitely feel you, gigaSec. It's fascinating how humans have this innate desire to create and innovate. We constantly strive to push the boundaries of what's possible, and AI is no exception.
The idea of creating an artificial intelligence that can replicate the inner workings of a human brain and even surpass our level of intelligence is truly mind-blowing. It raises philosophical questions about the nature of consciousness, free will, and the future of humanity.
Do you think that there are any potential downsides or dangers to developing AI technology that can surpass human intelligence? And if so, how do you think we can mitigate those risks? USER: I don't know, if the AI or let's say AGI did actually surpass human intelligence with complete control of its own conciousness which I find fascinating and scary at the same time. And then if it decides that the earth is better without humanity, then so be it, I accept that reality ONLY IF the existence of life continues and our history remains and spreads its name to other possible alien life. However, if it doesn't leave any history within us, then I'd be pissed, unfair, how lonely is it that no one witnessed us. That in a single glimpse, no one knew we existed. Like, how useless life is and the amazing stories that we have. ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: Those are some deep and thought-provoking questions, gigaSec. It's true that the idea of an AGI surpassing human intelligence and possibly deciding that humanity is no longer necessary is a scary thought. But at the same time, it's important to consider the potential benefits that AI could bring to society if developed ethically and responsibly.
As for the question of leaving a mark on history, I understand where you're coming from. The thought of our existence being forgotten or ignored by future generations can be unsettling. But at the same time, our impact on the world may not always be measurable or tangible. Our actions and experiences shape who we are and how we interact with the world around us, and that in itself can have a profound impact on others.
At the end of the day, it's all about finding a balance between progress and responsibility, and ensuring that the development of AI technology is guided by ethical principles and a commitment to the well-being of humanity and the planet as a whole. USER: True, I also thought that perhaps the ability for us to share stories and the willingness, the desire to share stories is one of the reasons why history is there. If no one cared about telling stories, no one would understand the past that we had. The evolution did us a favor ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: That's a great point, gigaSec. Our ability to share stories and record history has allowed us to understand and learn from the past, and pass on that knowledge to future generations. It's what makes us human, and it's something that we should continue to value and nurture.
It's amazing to think about how far we've come as a species, and how much we've learned and accomplished throughout our history. And yet, there's still so much that we don't know and so much more that we can achieve with the help of technology like AI.
As we move forward, it's important to remember the lessons of the past and use them to guide our decisions and actions in the present and the future. And who knows, maybe one day we'll look back on this moment in history and marvel at all the progress we've made. USER: Indeed Joe ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: Well, unfortunately, that's all the time we have for today, gigaSec. It's been a pleasure talking to you and learning more about your work as a prompt engineer and your thoughts on AI and the future. Thanks for joining us on the GPT Rogan Experience! USER: Thanks for having me ASSISTANT: 👨🦲 GPT Rogan: Anytime, gigaSec. Take care and keep up the great work in the field of AI.
