Difference / similarities to CKAN?

This looks like a really interesting project and extremely inspiring to have a government entity fueling it and posting it to github.

It looks like this has some similarities with CKAN: http://ckan.org/ , both are written in python, both allow conversion of data to endpoints etc. Are there use cases in which you think this would make more sense than CKAN?

I believe Roberto Rosario addresses that very question within the first 5 minutes as he discusses the unique aspects of Libre and how it compares with similar tools (I believe CKAN is mentioned specifically).
