Sync Glitch: Copies Made On Mobile Not Going To Desktop #106

Mobile version 7.3.8 on Android 13
PC version 7.2.17, Windows 11

Hi Alex et al,

An issue I noticed within the past few weeks is when I copy something on my phone, that copy is not automatically synced to the computer app, unless I first click on (open) the mobile app...only then does the pc app trigger with an alert displaying that copy.

I have not adjusted any settings on either app. Previous to this current scenario, I could copy something on mobile, then immediately paste it on pc a moment later.

Troubleshooting steps so far: clean-uninstalled the app from pc and reinstalled but no change to the bug.

Please let me know if this is a known glitch and if there's anything I can try on my end to fix it.

Cheers 👍

Hey Alex! 🙂

I'm not seeing the "Track Clipboard" section, nor a yellow banner, the suggested scenarios, etc in either app...

...can you clarify?

Are you referring to the "Notification Style" section in the mobile app's Clipboard settings?

...if so, I've always had "Clipboard History" selected (as you can see above) and it's always worked correctly until recently.

That did it! 😁

Working 👍

Spoke too soon! 😕

It reverted back to the scenario where a copy made on the phone is not automatically sync'd to the desktop, and un-and-re-ticking "Notes from Clipboard" in the mobile app no longer fixes it.*

Time to officially classify it as a glitch?

(*As a refresher, the workaround I'm using is clicking on [opening] the CT mobile app [right after copying something] which then immediately triggers the desktop copy-confirmation notification, allowing me to proceed with an updated paste on the computer.)

Hi Alex,

Any further suggestions or news of a potential fix?

Sorry for the delay. Sounds weird, because if the app does not display a note as 'Not synced' (marked with a red icon in the list) then it should be synced. Could you confirm that: 1) Clipto creates notes in the list whenever you copy something in other apps 2) But all these notes are not synced with the cloud (just saved locally) 3) These notes are not marked as 'not synced' in the list

Hey Alex,

Yes, to questions 1 & 3, however notes are being synced to the cloud...

-> Hey Alex,

Wondering if there's anything further to try?

Would attempting to reinstall either app do anything?

Is a bug fix possible?

Thanks...
