Changelog missing updates

The CHANGELOG.md, hasn't been updated since 2017, is there another location where I could get an overall view of the changes?

The habit of writing ChangeLogs comes from a time when version management was not used (very much). Differently put, version management makes ChangeLogs superfluous.

Possibly it would be appropriate to officially ditch ChangeLogs, for example by deleting said file...

Thank you for sharing your personal opinion (even if this is not the best location to discuss your proposal, as there is a separate user forum for that). OTOH we need to see that changelogs are high-level summaries while gitlogs are low-level information. Both serve different purposes for different audiences. There might be people that benefit from keeping the high-level document.
