Lack of pagination options

The style guide sets out rather unusual pagination in that it's limit to only a few options:

Presumably it's been done this way so that it looks the same for small screens:

www.cam.ac.uk actually uses more sensible/standard pagination:

But this then breaks on small screens as there's too many options:

The style guide should have something like this that still works on small screens. JavaScript could be used to reduce the number of options (eg remove the 4 and the 8), and the widths would need to be reduced a bit (though care should be taken to make sure they're still tapable!).
