The 2023/24 Holiday Service Research project found a large number of transit agencies didn't properly add holiday service data into their GTFS data. In order to minimize the amount of problems with data, Transit Data Quality would like to have a one-time outreach campaign highlighting problems and advising transit agencies to please update their holiday info in GTFS data.
What is the goal of this campaign?
The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness of how it is important for transit agencies to create accurate data about holiday schedules so that riders can plan their travels accordingly.
Who does this campaign target?
The campaign is targeting Transit Agencies operating fixed-route service - specifically personnel at transit agencies that create/publish GTFS data. The campaign should have a public communications component that happens sometime in late October in order to give some time before Veterans Day for agencies to update their schedules. Another advisory could potentially be sent in November.
