highlight not coherent to caret position

In this picture the caret is out of the child function, all the parent block is highlighted (expected).

In this picture the caret is in the child function block but it highlights all the parent block (unexpected)
expectation: only the child function block is highlighted

Same as the previous image, the caret is in the parent function but nothing is highlighted (unexpected)
expectation: all the parent block is highlighted.

Do you read the issues ? If you don't have time to fix the issues, can you at least respond so people reading this in the future knows the extension development is discontinued and encourage people to fork and update it.

I think this is because the highlighting is based on indention and not code block.
