+ A long-time admirer of smart people, Shelly works hard to surround herself with people she can learn from. This is particularly easy to do in her day job as a Director (IR) for CrowdStrike Services. Shelly has toiled as an incident responder for the past 17 years and learned what normal looks like in helpdesk, desktop and operations roles previous to that. Shelly has seen a lot of data. She may have seen your data. She is frequently found wearing a bow-tie and some form of red sneakers. + |

Talk Title: 10 Things I wish I knew before my first incident
Talk Abstract:
The first major incident response I was involved in was a nightmare. Why? Because I didn’t know what we didn’t know. Almost 20 years and too many incidents to count later, I’ve come up with a list of 10 (or more) things that I wished I had known then. In this talk, we’ll cover what those 10 things are, some adjacent questions to those, and some war stories to show you why you should care.
This isn't your dad's IR plan....
