Cannot add remote repository using borg serve

This error is remote and not from Vorta. You're still welcome to ask for help in the discussion forum.

Do you mean there is an error with my configuration on the remote or that vorta does not support this configuration?

I mean that your RPi mount has an issue.

Vorta supports remote repos quite well. E.g. from BorgBase

Wow, seems like between creating the last borg backup and trying to switch to vorta there was some hardware failure. I hadn't expected that. Sorry for the noise! :)
