The docs suggest you can use a bridge to deposit funds onto Bitshares, but as far as I'm aware there are no such bridge services?
Further, the gateway section includes this text:
Generally gateways issue assets prefixed with their symbol, like OPEN, TRADE, or META. These assets are backed 100% by the real BTC or ETH or any other coin that people deposit with the gateways.
An OPEN.BTC is thus in theory equivalent to the BTC you get on Poloniex
All three of these gateway token operators are no longer operational.
OPEN.BTC is in fact not equivalent to the BTC you get on Poloniex, nor are OPEN gateway assets backed by 100% of the real backing asset.
It's been years since OPEN rugpulled bitshares.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
The "bridge" services do exist, nowadays some of them are called "Instant Crypto Exchange" etc. See https://github.com/bitshares/awesome-bitshares#bridges . Nevertheless none of them is functionally integrated into bitshares-ui any more.
Gateways come and go, yes I think it's better to update the wording.
