I'm not sure if this Issue is best described as a User Story, but I'll give that a shot and see how it goes...

User Story:

As a DAQ application developer, I would like to have a simple example that demonstrates the sending of messages between processes so that I can use it as a starting point for my development work.

Let's try documenting the characteristics of the three-process listrev example on a Wiki page.
