On working with third parties - academics, contractors etc.
Do we need to define what we mean by a third party in the definitions sector?

In our dept.
We have a Commissioner who is the customer and then what normally happens is an analysis specifies the work for a third party. Thus the analyst is an intermediary.
Seems to me the important point we need to make is that the guidance is clear about the roles for the third party i.e. is the third party acting as the Analyst or the Analyst and Assurer or...?

Finally, do we need a name for the person specifying the work for the third party?
