gzipping recursively inside directories?

I have files like the following:

app
  my-article/index.html
  some-blog-post/index.html

gzip-brunch is unable to compress these index.html files.

Is there a way I can do this? (looking at the code I don't think so, but I might be wrong).

If not, can you please add support for this? This prevents gzip-brunch from working with html-pages-brunch (which minifies and builds HTML pages like the setup I've described above)
