However I have tried this and it still isn't working. I have no problem getting two UNO's to communicate via the MCP2515, but whenever I try with the DUE it never works. Am I missing something here?

I seem to be having a problem with interfacing the MCP2515 library with the Arduino DUE. A couple of issue threads mention commenting out the lines:
MCP2515::MCP2515(const uint8_t _CS)
{
//SPI.begin();
SPICS = _CS;
pinMode(SPICS, OUTPUT);
//endSPI();
}
