I just started using Emacs yesterday and tried the original, Doom version, and now this. And THIS is, by far, the best one. Thank you for developing it!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you like it. I must tell you—I haven't really maintained amethyst in a long time, and there's quite a bit in there that's out-of-date.

Some of the ideas for this starter kit came from Nicholas Rougier's Elegant Emacs, which has since been replaced by his Nano project. I would look at Nano Emacs if you want more in this vein.

If you want a more bare-bones starter kit, then you might like my Emacs Bedrock kit, which leverages some of Emacs 29's new functionality to get a decent set of defaults without using too many external packages. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Do whatever suits your taste! :)
