Add a license to an exisiting Github Repository

If you forgot to add a license to a repository then you can add simply by:

  1. Click Create new file

  2. Write the name of the file as License, License.txt or License.md As soon as you type license, there will be a button called "Choose license template" On the right side. Choose license template

  3. Click Choose license template.

  4. Choose license type.

  5. Click Review and submit.

  6. Click Propose and submit

  7. Merge pull request. A pull request will be created, which you merge to your repository to add the license.
