Localised country names

Currently we are displaying the english country names when clicking on the map. To be consistent with our idea of not using english localisation for everything, it would probably be best to localise the names.

I believe this link has the data we'd need to do this. I have a question though. If we have a location in, say, Chines, should we be using the Chinese (Han/Cantonese/etc., my freind who is an expert in Asian languages says they all use the same alphabet) characters? This will be useful to Chinese people, of course, but not to other people who have questions about China. Or would we be using Pinyin or Romanized version of whatever alphabet is appropriate?
