When working with docker images it is useful to be able to set some config values via environment variables.

The lightbend config library has a nice implementation of this for the JVM:

basedir = "/whatever/whatever"
basedir = ${?FORCED_BASEDIR}

in the .yaml will override the basedir value only if the variable is set.
