Scope and Contents
Hall, former chemistry teacher at Springfield High School, recalls homefront conditions during WWII. He recalls working as a freelance writer, military installations and prisoner of war camps, local war plants, work as a war emergency sanitary engineer, and the effects of the war on the teaching profession and on his students at Springfield High School. He also recalls the American reaction to Sputnik and its effect on science programs. 2 tapes, 80 mins., 25 pp.
