Ability to assign a different mobile button

I have come from using flexnav which was getting a bit old and unsupported. Slimmenu is fantastic. One thing Flex allowed for was that it would allow for you to put a class or id as a button identifier. Thus if you already had a button in your design, you could add the class or id and the menu would work with that instead of the one that comes by default.
Any ideas?
