Merge with Existing Messages in SMS database

Is there a way to merge the created messages.xml from the Hangouts.json with any existing messages that are already in your SMS database on the phone, rather than wiping them out?

Merge the backup messages file created on the phone from Titanium Backup, a quick parse should be able to merge them. I think merging the thread count, and following tags: threads, mms msgBox, and sms msgBox.
