Multiple count modes

Hi,

Would be great if the plugin supported both character and word modes. I will see if I can fork it and push the change, but for now am on a tight deadline. :-)

Clarification: instead of having to choose either 'word' or 'character' mode, would be handy to have, for example, count 'down' of words left, and count 'up' of characters used.
