If you were serious about translating @Core00077, then here's what's needed:

  • Copy the template.pot https://github.com/Zren/plasma-applet-eventcalendar/blob/master/package/translate/template.pot found at ~/.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.eventcalendar/translate/template.pot to zh_CN.po (zh_CN is the locale code for simplified chinese).
  • Fill out the msgstr "" messages.
  • You can test with sh ./plasmoidlocaletest zh_CN but you'll need to install plasma-sdk, xgettext and possibly a few others. You can skip the testing step if it's too much trouble.
  • Either upload zh_CN.po as zh_CN.txt by attaching here as a comment, or make a pull request.
  • Subscribe to Issue Translation Updates #46 to receive email updates when new messages are ready to be translated.

Here's an example zh_CN.po from the Tiled Menu widget: https://github.com/Zren/plasma-applet-tiledmenu/blob/master/package/translate/zh_CN.po

OK, though I'm now busy preparing for my exam, it won't take long. I will translate it in my free time. I'll let you know after estimating the time I need for this work.

Finished. Looked all right to me.
167/195 done.
Two things:

  1. There are 28s leftover because I don't think has the necessity, which are in the pic down below:
    image
    image
Most of which are units or time formats that don't need translation.
Others are words like "Id", "API App Id" or "Debugging", I don't think translations would be better to explain there meanings. We use English words for these in our apps or even daily life.
  2. I edited two time formats in agenda which I mentioned in issue Wrong time format in agenda #67 . They are in the pic down below. I can't ensure you that this is the way most of Chinese choose when we select a 24-hours time. But from my observation, most of us use this format. So I just conform to my convenience. But I can't really decide this kind of user habits, so I'll leave it to you. (Better to add an option to choose if you wish to).

That' it. See details in the PR #71 .

Awesome!

I'm probably going to change event time on the hour (24 hour clock) to h:mm for all languages. Do you really need the extra 0 in front of 09:00 as in 09:00 - 10:00? Instead of h:mm with 9:00 - 10:00. If so, I'll keep that as hh:mm for the Chinese translation.

Sorry for the late reply.

Your widgets are really great. I happened to find that the widget todolist I am using is also from your hand. You are doing a really great job. I really appreciate your efforts.

The extra zero is just my personal habit. Sorry for bring that in the translation. I would use h:mm for 24 hour clock for all languages too if I were you. The extra 0 is no big deal. Just carry on.

The issue can be closed now. I have subscribed Translation Updates #46 ,so whenever translations are needed, I will help if I can. Expecting for your next version.
