Error: Location doesn't exist

I'm tried WikiJourney 1.2.0 installed via F-Droid and I tried it on multiple Android devices running different version of Android.
The issue is that no matter which city name I type into the search field and click on the Go button the result is WikiJourney switches to an empty map view and pops up an error message saying "Location doesn't exist".
Clicking on Map in the menu also never shows a map.
