It would be nice to support periods in the types and treat that as pathing info for graphite. If my type was 'foo.bar' and my check was 'baz', the metrics would go into foo.bar.baz in graphite. This would then be taken into account in the ui menus with foo being a top level, and bar being a sub menu under foo.
