Describe the bug
The operations described in walkthrough are not present / do not work for many other released jars

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Download most, if not all other released jars (e.g. 2.1.7, 2.0.0, 2.0.6, 2.0.7, 2.0.8, 2.1.3; all of which have significant or subtly different interface design and behavior.)
  2. Attempt to follow README.md
  3. Missing user cues/components
  4. Attempt to workaround not obvious or fails.

Expected behavior
Interface appears as described in README and follows flow in README.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • macOS Big Sur v11.6.8

Additional context
Some other issues and some visitors may be missing out on the potential in frustration to get working. There is a lot of capability here, but it is hard to get at right away. Some more background on assumptions in directory layout would be useful and a little more documentation could go a long way. Knowtator represents a lot of work and good integration with an underlying ontology to ease the effort to do semantic mark-up (huzzah!), but also has some gotchas in working version (span lists/refresh).

Thanks for the kind words about the work that went into Knowtator and thank you for giving it a try. I hope that you were able to get one of the jars working. I'm a little confused if you are saying that the installation instructions for Mac are unclear or if the instructions do not lead to a functioning application? Essentially, you just need to put the knowtator jar in Protege's plugins directory and reboot Protege. If this is what the problem is, can you please provide the exact steps you took on your machine? If you mean that the process for creating a new project is out of date, then you are correct. Adding a Knowtator view to protege involves clicking through the following menus "Window -> Views -> Miscellaneous views -> Knowtator". I have updated the installation image as suggested.
